After my new aquarium 'cycle' has been complete to start to think about filter maintenance? My cycle, I feel, is almost complete and curious when I should clean it or at least shake out the filters?

I have a Rena xP3 filter on a 80 gallon. The tank was first setup late May/early June..

Little over a month is still Early.i wouldn't touch the bio media at all. only mechanical.. if you pre filter your intake with some filter floss or something similar it will help keep your bio media cleaner. less maintenance.hows your water parameters?
