For cichlids you must overstock. That is the only way to keep aggression down. If they become aggressive and territorial the best thing to do is move around some of the aquascape which removes whatever place they were territorial over. Yes it causes stress when you rearrange the tank but it's the only way to keep them from killing each other since by nature, they are a very aggressive fish.
