Can you get the hardware store to cut it for you? Unless you use cinder blocks to support the entire length of the tank I think you'll need something more rigid than ply under the tank.
2x4s (or 2x6) on top of the cinder blocks would be superior to plywood. You could put ply on top of the 2x4s as well. Check the scrap bin at HD/Lowes - you might find all of it free!
It can't hurt to put a third raw of blocks under the middle of the tank, either.

I'm not sure if my Home Depot cuts wood for you. Last time I tried to get some PVC cut and I had to do it myself with a kitchen knife. I have two 2x4 s that I used before on my old stand to support the tank cause the dresser was 1/2" short width wise. Can I use those.

Almost all of them do. If they're the correct length, use the 2x4s...

I kept an all glass 75 for 2 years over 5 2x4s, 1/2" plywood and 2 stacks of cinder blocks (6 each side.) It was fine, although 3 2x4s and 1 2x6 would work very well. If HD will not cut them to size, most lumber yards will gladly do it. Very simple yet very strong stand. Going 4 high on the blocks is not recommended and you should consider placing some type of padding under the cinder blocks (1/4" plywood will do) to reduce any potential damage to the flooring (unless it's on bare concrete.) Blocks should be set open side up (standard 16x8x8).
I used foam over the plywood, just to be sure and to reduce any possible water damage. Nothing was special treated, but then again, I wasn't pouring water all over the place. I nailed the 2x4s and plywood together to make sure it didn't move during installation. (Small nails, not big ones that might split the wood.)
You don't need them, but cinder blocks are cheap and if you don't need the space under the tank, you can create a middle column. I never did and it's overkill.
