How many clown loaches do you have?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You should definitely keep Clowns in a shoal of at least 5 or 6 individuals, all around the same size. Don't worry, you'll get addicted quick.

Are you actually cycling the tank or just letting it sit? I've heard clowns don't do well in unseasoned setups

Definitely DO NOT put the Loaches in the tank until its been fully cycled. They're very sensitive, so put your other fish in first & wait a month or so before you add the Clown loaches.

what I'm waiting on is for the sand to fully settle before engaging the filter so i don't ruin the new pad in it. I plan on cycling it either today or tomorrow. im not moving them till at least 2 days after. although mine did just fine going into an unseasoned tank, but i plan on cycling this time

I agree man. They are very addictive. Everytime I pass a shop that has them here in Indonesia I just cant resist but to get one of the good sizes ones. Just askin how rare are the big loaches in the stores over there? even back here in Indonesia where the clown loaches are from its hard to find those that are more than 10".
