I want to breed them, how many babies should I start off with to let them pair off and how many pairs can fit in a 55, how to divide up tank w/ dividers??

I would get 6 babies from different sources to prevent inbreeding. See who pairs off. If the others can live in the tank with the pair or pairs then you may be able to keep them also.
Two pairs should co-habitate reasonably well. Make sure to put all the caves and hiding spots on either end of the tank with the middle being mostly bare with maybe some tall plants to break the line of sight. This will force the two pairs to pick the sides for their nests and hence one pair wont take up the whole middle of the tank.
