I'm getting a 150gallon tank (60x24x25) in the next few months. I have been going back and forth with my options as far as looks, equipment, and what fish to get. One option I was thinking about going with is a barebottom THIN BAR Datnoid tank. If I were to decide on this option, how many THIN BAR's could I keep in it FOR LIFE.

I say for life because I most likely wont upgrade for years after.

Do not let Filtration factor in your opinion. Filtration will be much more then enough, no matter how many dats. Just base your opinions on the tank size itself.

Thanks in advance for your opinions, and if anyone has a similar set up please let me know:grinno:

probably 8 for about 4yrs :D

I gotta think more then 2 or 3, am I wrong?

Thin Bars max aout around 14inch (as far as I understand) but will most likely not get bigger then 1 foot. Even assuming they reach 16inches each I would think 150 Gallons could hold more then 3, no?

Please let me know if I am way off here.

He said for life, not 4 years, remember that.

if you put 2 or 3 in their they will beat crap out of each other

You could probably house 5 or 6 thinbars for life in that tank. IMO, that would work better than 2 or 3. Thinbars are pretty shy and retiring. Having a group of 5 or 6 would encourage them to be more "social." :)

i would say around 5 or so is best but i would buy a lot more to start out then when they get bigger keep the best and sell the rest.
i forgot a foot long dat has a lot of mass in comparison to a lot of other foot long fish.
