I have 3 eels each one a different species I suspect that's why they all get along I think their the coolest things ever and want to keep my collection growing, Is it okay to have multiple in one tank?

I've read otherwise but from my own experience it's not a huge deal than again they are all juveniles

I'd like to hear from others who actually take care of their eels, not read something off a "care sheet"

You either need a TON of eels, or just ample room for each. I've NEVER seen a problem from having multiple eels, even of the same species. I've also never even heard of an eel eating another eel. My friend has 4 Fire Eels in the same tank and each eel is about 2 feet long - NO problems at all. I also never had a problem when I had a tire track with my fire eel

My tire track has eaten small fish since I first aquired him at about 4" or so. he's also pretty aggressive so I simply have never tried to mix him with other spineys. my fire eels play fairly well together but there is deffinately a heiracrhy with them, and some aggression. my 2 leopard eels at first would not tolerate eachother, but have since "slightly bonded" though one is deffinately the subordinate. I never had much luck with peacocks, but I never tried to put a few in a 125 gallon tank either. and Zig zags are often kept in small groups in community tanks. thats how we keep them at work and they do fine with eachother.

Individual personalities can play huge roles. the best advise I've given and gotten reguarding spinesy is always have a back-up tank to move a fish if needed. and go with odd sized groups. Even groups rarely work.

how do they attack
will the eels contantly chase the othe runtil dead or is it like
"get out of my hiding hole" and thats it.
i have a 1200LItre tank, plenty of hiding spots, ample of line of sight brakers and root systems.
2100x82wx72h is my tank
currently is an 70cm TT eel, never seen it aggressive.
i want to put a 40 cm Fire eel in it should i? OR shall i wait for fire eel to get biggeR?

IME, it's mostly the latter. I have never kept multiple eels together, but lately I've been noticing some aggression issues between my TT and the other bottom dwellers (a LSN and a senegal bichir). It doesn't chase them, but it does bite if they get too close.

the former with other spineys.. the latter with other species. conspecific aggression is higher in every type I've kept then with other tank-mates.
