How many eels in one tank?

Tiretrack eels are more territorial than others... Wonder if it is any different in TT that are never fed live food.

I have Velvet Goby, rope fish, fire eel, and Bicher in my tank with other fish and they do just fine. Make sure you have hiding holes i have one for each and have never had an issue with them. Hope that helps

I have 2 fire feels in a 150 gallon tank with some large cichlids and a large clown knife, they all get along fine.

The species that get big, in my experience get real nasty when they get sexually mature.

I currently have a 4" TT (in my 65g tank for about a month) and about a week ago, I added a 3" fire.... boy does my TT HATE that fire eel. I was hoping that if I raised them together from young they would be tolerant of each other but it seems the only time my TT will leave the fire alone is when I feed them. He's a greedy bastard and has no time for other thoughts then. I'm really hoping they can get along when they spend a bit more time together but I suspect I may have to get rid of the TT... (and yes I'm well aware that my tank is tiny for the size these eels can reach. I plan on upgrading as soon as possible to at the absolute minimum, a 200G)
