How many exodons in a 45 gallon tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have kept exodons a few times in the past do not put 40-80 exos in a 45 gallon that's stupid and ridiculous!..... At adult size I recommend 1.5 -2 gallons per fish ....I would start with 30-35 exos

so 5 less? LOL.
OP- You are better off getting your info at Petco since they go with the "gallon per fish" formula also...

You are not the only one Einstein! Lol.
There's one thing you missed or can't comprehend... I gave a number you are obviously scared of, i also gave a filtration setup that is monsterized. It's ok, you can try it without letting me know lol.

Sometime overfilteration will not help ...... These fish can grow to 3 or 4 inches ..... You can put 80 in a tank but they will pick each other off until your left with less then half of what you started with . Show me reasoning behind your opinion of housing more then 30-35 exos in a 40 gallon ...... It won't work

This is why I barely get on mfk..... I'm an active member on piranhas keepers where we all specifically keep exos and diff types of piranhas ..... Get on here to help people with some advice on these fish and all of a sudden a few guys on here think they know all about all types of fish and give false information ..... Either way you can stick with your 40-80 which I must say is no help since its obv overstocked and such a huge gap that its of no help...... Il stick with 30-35

So if you know 80 will pick each other off, then WHY DOES THE EXXODON Expert recommend any quantity, even more so 30-35?
You are all over the place with your thoughts.

A few guys (I thought it was only me)? Let it go already. You have your opinion and I have mine. Not like I said put a pacu in a bowl and don't worry about filtration. I gave MY opinion and MY opinion on filtering a quantity i gave. If you don't like that, go back to your other forum and cry about my opinion.

Can't believe how sensitive these"idiots" get.

Monster Fish Keepers not Monster Forum Komplaining (yes I used the K on purpose but you can rant about that also).

I am imo expert never said I was just stated I've had experience with these fish.... This all started when you posted a 5 exo diff when you clearly stated 40-80 which is a big difference then 30-35 when your range is clearly going up to 80..... I'm not all over with my thoughts..... I listed a quantity bc with all types of fish there is a certain limit ...... Other tetras such as neons black skirts etc I agree with you..... They can be overstocked with good filteration but these bucktoothed tetras will pick at each other and are intense scale nippers ....anyways to whoever posted this good luck with the exos
