How Many Fish Can I Fit in My Tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
82Lx36Wx48H inches right? it's approx. 630 Gallons (US) if that is right dimension then you would be fine with the pacu.

I like the bass. Is it Xingu?

Yes, very big eater. Actually ate a smaller Midas once that he mistook for a feeder and also also ate an XL Angel Fish. His mouth is massive once it opens wide, as you can imagine.

No, length is 8.2 feet, that's 98 inches. Calculating that out, it would be 733 gallons, but there is an extra inch or so in length and width, which creates the 750.

Is that Pacu main focus display? Your tank is huge I would consider some better looking monster than that pacu :D

It's an Albino Pacu. I liked the look of it at the shop. There are some nice fish I can put in, but I can't have problematic fish who could threaten everyone else. I had a shovelnose cat in there, which I had to take out because he tried to eat two other fish, with success because they were too big but killed them in process. And I had to dump out a Water Cow Goby who killed a few of the stock. We had to drain half the tank and physically get in there because that bastard hid in the rock caves.

I was looking at an Australian Arowana, but there is a risk he will fight with my Asian. Not looking to take the risk as both are pricey fish. I was also offered a snake head, but he might kill everyone in my tank. Pacu has a very small mouth and are actually cowards when confronted by fish half their size.

I would stay away from snakehead cause it's illegal to own, keep that in private business and off these forum for your own safe :D

Yes, I have an Asian Aro. Pretty big boy. You can't see him too well in that photo.

Not sure of Snake Head type as Ive never dealt with the breed, but I was told he would get very larger very aggressive and preferably kept on his own or with other massive fish he couldn't bully.

The only species snakehead consider safe for your tank is Channa Aurantimaculata (I said safe if you only keep one and you luck out to have a female one), it's very colorful and consider the most beauty in all snakehead species but again...It's Illegal to own in US.

Yeah what the others said all species of snakehead are illegal in the US which really sucks but what sucks for me is im in california and all the cool species of fish like piranah and etc are all illegal. You live in las vegas take advantage of the species you can get if you can take care of them and have the supplies.
