How many fish in 55 gal???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You need a pond, as you've been told. Sorry I don't sugar coat my advice, but it's the way it is. A 55 gallon tank is not acceptable for your stock. If your not in the process of getting a pond, these fish need new homes very quickly.

I'm honestly surprised more people aren't chiming in on this thread. IMO if this stocking was in a 75 or 90g it would still be drastically overstocked. I'm assuming you bought these fish with little our no research. Not hating... everybody starts somewhere. as long as you actually take in the god advise of fellow MFKers instead of just getting offended by the blunt ones and you continue to learn it will only get better. My advise...
1 ditch the RTC's. Not literally of coarse, but either find them a suitable home our take them back to the LFS. Everyone says they are going to build a pond or buy a pool for their RTC's but very few actually do and most end up living very hard lives. Take them back now before they are 18" and you are to attached to ever part with them.
2 try and find a bigger tank. I'd say 220 is bare minimum. Larger is required imo but opinions will very.
3 research research research. Then when you're done...research some more!
