Hi I have got a 150g aquarium and I want to know how many freshwater, backrish and marine fish can successfully can be kept in it.

I have not decided yet what type [freshwater, backrish or marine] of system I want to have.

Well, generally speaking, freshwater can hold the most, then brackish, then salt being able to hold the least. Oxygen content goes down with more salt in the water. Also, you might consider if you want a number of smaller/medium fish, or one to a few larger ones.

You are gonna have to be a little more specific with your question. You could fit either hundreds or just 1 fish in that tank. Do a little cruzin' around on the forums and find what you like. Then we will be able to help you out more.

I am think I will keep small fish. I already have two giant gouramis that are more then 16inches long and 4 that are 3 inches long. I want to keep small fish.

I really like to keep marines but I think they are harder. I just cant make up my mind.

you can fit a huge number of glassfish in there if that's where you're leaning, otherwise you can do a damsel tank, but you need to choose carefully based on aggression. I'd go with a larger predator in SW rather than the marine equivalent to cichlids

Judging that you're still deciding on salt brackish or fresh that pretty much rules out the first two imo:). I would stick with a freshwater display with a possible school of semi large peacful cichlids and maybe a few oddballs.

This is what I think I should do. If freshwater tank I want to put my goldfish and angles with some new fish or I want to put my giant gouramis with new fish. I dont want fish that can kill my goldfish If I put them in 150, or if I put Giant Gs I dont want them to kill the new fish. I want some small fish that could be compatible and neither prey nor predator.

If I want marine I want a budget system. Nothing too expensive or complicated.

Or if backrish I want to keep scats, puffers. But If not marine I really want either my goldfish or Giant G to be in my new 150g.

What are semi large cichlids. Can you name some. Is there anyway I can house large scats and monos with Giant Gourami and cichlids.
