Hello everyone, I currently have a 55 gallon with 5 mpimbwe frontosa that are just reaching the 4" mark and I would like to upgrade to a bigger tank. The tank I am looking at is a 90 gallon bow front. I have always wanted a bow front and the guy is willing to sell it to me with stand, light, and tops for $250. I realize that I should really be looking out for a six-footer, like a 125 gallon, but there are limited options on craigslist at the moment. What would you think my best bet would be for keeping my frontosa in the 90 gallon? My dad has an open 75 gallon for 1 or 2 and the LFS owner is a friend and said he'd take them for cash if I ever needed to move any. Could I possibly keep 3-4 in the 90 gallon. I have constraints at my apartment in chicago so it would be difficult to get by with a large six-foot tank but the 90 gallon would do. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!

I wouldn't keep them in a 4fter either. Fronts are best in colonies. You're better off waiting til you find a 6ft tank
Frontosa get about 14", and it really doesn't take all too long. For now at 4", you MIGHT be able to get away with it, but don't look for it to last long.

wow! thanks bbortko! i'll definitely look into it. i've never searched that site before. plus, when it all comes down to it, i would much rather keep my fronts than get a 90 gallon bow front. as much as i want one, i could always get one in the future. it's nice having these fronts with their amazing color and now that they can be hand-fed. given that we're all big fish people here, you never want to let go of that special fish when it definitely might not come around again. thanks for the help!

You can definitely keep the 4 in the 90 gallon as long as they get along. If you pay attention to your fish you will see if 1 or 2 should not be in there.
