How many hours do you guys

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am running 10 hours per day on both my GT tank and my planted Nanoluteus tank at the moment. I'm having alot of algae growth on the front pane of both tanks but I think it's actually a window shining on there so I'll add curtains soon and re assess my light needs. Running 10am to 8pm.

Mine get 12-14 hrs depending on my work schedule that day. I did have a timer but it got fried when my basement flooded

I have one of those strip bar led lights and it is bright as hell. I suppose I'll start leaving it off more while I'm at work because the fish seem to prefer it that way. Just hope my plants don't start to die off from lack of light.

I have three fixtures and moon lights all on timers.

They turn on and off on alternating times with all of them on when I get home from work (except the moon lights). Then they ramp down and the last one goes off when the moon lights come on.

Everything is off for a few hours in the middle of the night and while I am at work, karate, or church.

I am noticing that my timers are getting off sync though and I want to upgrade to a single master programmable timer if anyone has suggestions.

P. S. My sump goes 12 on off for the plants down there.

No plants so only when I am looking at my fish. Probably 2h a day but depends on the tank a little too.

Any where from 12 to 72 hours. I don't have any timers and its a planted tank. Fish don't seem to mind the extra light.

I have mine all on timers. They start up at either noon or 5pm depending on if there are plants, then all go out at 10pm.
