how many juvie(2 inch) discus can I put in a 30 gallon(36Lx12Wx18H)?
I got a mix of sizes in the 135(2 inches - 5 inches). I need to take the juvies out.

if its a growout and has lots of water changes and good filtration is a bare tank id say 15

yes that's what it's going to be a grow out, would a sponge filter be ok, or would I need a power filter, or canister filter?

Canister filter and daily water changes.

I would go with 10 to be safe.
Actually, I would do 5 to avoid daily wc, But I weird.

what gph do I need for a 30? would a fluval 105 or 205 work? do you know of a place to get one where it won't cost a arm and a leg.

opps I actually looked at them, and they are 3-3.5 inches.

Juvenile discus excrete a lot of wastes. They require plenty of feedings so it's not an option to minimize water changes as much as you want lest you want them stunted. Daily water changes attributes patience. It pays off in the end when your discus grow steadily and magnificently.

Craiglist has bargains but make sure filters are in working condition. I'd go with 205.

It's not bad. Just do daily water changes until they reach 4-5 inches.:)
