The reason is why cause any additional stress on the female while she is pregnant that could cause problems. I have moved a pregnant henlei female in past that was getting beaten up by male and she aborted the pups next day. Males are always easier to move, you can move them from tank to tank and they will breed with a female within minutes. So we always move the females as a last resort only.
