How Many MFK Members are...

One time I was on my old animating forum, And i flamed a noob for making a thread in the experts section, not in the beginners where you are supposed to post until you get moved by the mods. Well any way, I flamed, and went 'Over board' and just started yelling for fun and i got warned. Then I flamed at the mods because it was fun, I suppose they didn't really get the joke... Well, any way, the forum only had 350 members, lol, and i ended up being banned, after that I quit animating because i had grown out of it.

Something "really bad" will warrant an instant ban. Other than that, most members that have been banned have been warned several times about the same thing. Before I was a mod I took the philosophy that any petty dispute I was involved in was not worth getting canned over. Most bans stem from arguments that get out of hand, or posting offensive material. Best way to avoid scrutiny is to avoid arguments and if you think the material you are about to post is even slightly questionable, skip it. We have much better things to do than mediate petty disputes and delete things that are of questionable substance. We would much rather keep our members than axe them. Most members that are banned for repeatedly posting questionable material are found in the lounge. If you stick to fish related stuff and ignore stupid arguments, you'll never get banned.

yeah i geuss, but my last ban was questionable:irked: i really dont think i should have gotten banned for it, but whatever its over. Im not into starting things so i dont have to worry about calling people names or arguing with anyone, and im staying away from avatars for ever, just sticking with what i have

One of the good aspects of MFK is, EXACTLY, the Lounge and the ability of being able to throw some thoughts and arguments around.

we all love fish ( and other exotics ) but, admittedly, no place would survive just on fish and fish discussion, because people simply have broader interests and if they feel well and wellcome on a place they will start to expand and enlarge the scope.

I would be long gone, ( or reduced my visits to some peeks a week ), Ewurm, if this place was only about fish.

That is not, no matter what people say, the reason MFK is what it is.

Lets keep it that way. And if you guys have to moderate ( and you have to and most often do it irreprehensibly well ) well, moderate away.

But please do not counsel people to stick to fish and fish discussions..:)
 
I have never broken the rules lol. I don't even think I have ever been talked to about anything I said. I am wondering something though How come Geo_Master can still post if he is banned!! I see him pop everywhere and he is banned.

I agree that the lounge is an invaluable tool, however, it is a common place for trouble. For most, it is not an issue. For some, it is their demise. I counsel THOSE people (who know who they are) that need to keep a clean rep or face damnation with another slip up, to stay out of the lounge.

DasArab-- i wish you were joking because that sounds pretty crappy--why would anyone even use that site if they know that.. im gonna go check it out lol
