Living in the Bay Area, I'm privileged to have the new Steinhart and the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
The new Steinhart in Golden Gate park is absolutely amazing. It has, I believe, the largest reef tank in the world (or pretty close to it), their alligator gar display is incredible, plus, there is a tunnel to walk through with the fish all around you. It's kind of hard to explain, but I took a picture and it's pretty trippy seeing all these fish with what looks like people in the tank as well.

I personally love the huge ocean exibits. I have to say that the one at Epcot Florida is actually really good, lol they have a "Finding Nemo" ride that goes under it. Its even more awesome scuba diving in it:headbang2
Hehe the scuba divers are part of the exibit too haha it was soo funny going up to the glass goofing off while little kids are screaming and dragging their parents over to say hi to the scuba diver lol:ROFL:
And watching people eat an expensive fish dinner through the glass while a big sandtiger shark swims by haha!
It was amazing swimming through schools of fish, turtles swimming over you and a big blind shark swimming straight towards u:nilly: my mom had a heart attack when i pointed at the open mouthed beast swimming past us close enough to touch!
Now I know what a fish feels like in a fish tank, though this was a huge fish tank :) Must be annoying to have people constantly knocking on the glass trying to get your attention or giving you to much attention lol;)
Even though I personally like scuba diving on a real reef:naughty: or a ship wreck dive at 130 feet :) (that was a amazing!!)
it was a blast swimming in a aquarium (and getting a cool goodie bad and video hehe):grinno:

It was a incredible experiance, expecially since im only 14

I'm a member of the Baltimore aquarium, which is pretty much the equivalent of having a season pass. We do get invites to special events there though. My wife and I went to a black tie dinner and got to walk through the aquarium in evening wear with about 20 other people. (Normally that place is packed to the ... gills)

My favorite exhibit is the Australian section, they have some amazing setups there with caimans and huge turtles, native fish and plants. They're set up as 4' pond-paludariums, so people can get both top-down views and side-views through the 4" acrylic walls.

I grew up in Chicago and used to spend a lot of time at Shedd, which is also an amazing aquarium.

I've been to the Shedd, Florida and Oregon coast aquarium recently... none really have any incredible exhibits, although the Shedd Reef/Shark area was pretty cool. I'd love to check out Monteray bay or Georgia aquarium...

Australian exhibit, interesting. I don't think those are super common, good one. Thanks :)

I like the Amazon display in NYC.

I've been to the aquarium at epcot and the ripley's believe it or not one. The detroit zoo's aquarium is kinda crappy, plus all the fish are carrying guns.....

Most of my family vacations are based around a trip to an aquarium.
Probably the most spectacular display was the tidal reef tank at the atlanta aquarium.Thier whale shark tank was mind boggling.
