How many of you keep multiple ropefish?

I wish I knew. I bought a ropefish when I bought my first bichirs and they all grew together. I tried to get another one about 9 months later but my bichirs didn't take to well to it and one morning I woke up and found it halfway down the throat of my Ornate. I tried again with a larger one but unfortunately I found it dead the next morning. My first ropefish is essentially a part of the family it seems because he has never had a single issue with any of my 12 bichirs. I quit trying because I don't want any more to die so I suggest that you get them all at the same time. But my ropefish Slick Rick acts and hangs out just like a regular bichir so I'd assume that they do the same with each other.

i only got one but would get more if i had more room lovely fish very peacful kinda just off in there own little world unless there chilling with other ropes

Whats the min tanksize for say, 4-5 of these guys?
Sorry for bumping an old thread, just didnt want to start a new one...

I only have one but I've heard from multiple sources that they do best in groups. I'm not sure of the tank size however, seeing as they get to 16" I believe, I would go with anything over 75 gallons for at least 5. If I'm a bit off someone please correct me.

Well, since they're flexible fish, you think they'd be ok in a 55?
Buying another 55 gallon or two pretty soon as I can get them for super cheap.
I've never kept ropes/poly's before though but an LFS near by has some 11'' ropes that are so kickarse looking.
