I keep 2 oscars in my 125g one albino red female at 10" and one red male at 12" they have currently 2 tanks mates in a 5" hifin spotted pleco and a 4" chocolate pleco. both plecos are just passing through on their way to the pond.
aggression is not an issue really as mine are a matched male/female pair so they of course get along quite well (besides some normal lip locking during their breeding time), breeding is unsuccessful thus far but the female is still young so we'll see.
If you don't have a matched pair I wouldn't recomend 2 in a 125. probabally 1 with some other tanks mate who isn't at the same swim level. other cichlids may work but most will either beat up on the oscar or get beat up by him.
you can try the 6 juvie thing if you have the time and then sell the others, however most peoiple have a hard time getting rid of extra oscars due to their size and you may not even get a pair much less a successful breeding pair. so I don't typically recomend this .
good luck and post pics of what you decide to do.
