Father left when I was 5 yrs.He has gone through 4 wifes and god knows how many relationships.I have not seen my mother since I was 10 yrs old as I moved in with my father at this stage.The courts forced this order.I won't go there on the subject of my mother!I will add that my father wouldn't know responsibility if it bit him in the a#$% and has himself been the reason every relationship has failed.(except for the relationship with my mother).
Eample.Cheating,self absorbed,careless,drinking,not at home.
One good thing came out of it all.I now have a long standing relationship with my spouse of 16+ yrs.2 children.All is good and still going strong.We are actually getting married in 2yrs.lol,can't rush these things.
See, We can learn from our parents.Just in my case, I learnt what not to do!
