Hey yall, I just got a 72"X18"X19" tank. How many upper jaws (excluding ornates) could I keep without over stocking? Other stock will include a 12" BKG, a striped and spotted raphael, and possibly a breeding pair of jewel cichlids. The tank will be planted and have black sand.

I currently have 3 6-8" senegals 2 2-3" senegals (1 albino) 3 3-4" delhezi and 1 6" delhezi

I would like to add some palmas polli and buettikoferi

Can I do this?

Assume I have more than adequate filtration.

The jewels will get eaten for sure at some point. And where did you get your delhezi you have like 4 and i have never even seen one in any of my lfs

The delhezi all came from sunpet wholesale distributors. they have them instock now. I work at my lfs, Sunpet is based in atlanta, georgia

so if you are in the south, you can probably request them from you lfs.

8-10 would be ideal.

so with my stock I'm right at max. hmmm.. maybe I'll find a new home for a sen or two, I just want to add a few different species. I'd really like a moke.

And as far as the jewels go, my polys dont tend to be big fish eaters... I had a batch of convicts hatch and they lasted a very long time. I still have one baby left and it swims openly without fear. Even the BKG shows it no attention. Odd, shrimp last about 20 seconds but they dont seam to care for fish. they love tilapia though.

The BKG is the boss in my tank, top of the order

6 to 10 bichirs. ditch the cichlids
