i guess im way out of the norm. I have a 100lbs in a 8'x5' tank. Its the perfect amount. Geos sift it so i dont have too.

Hey, you do realize that your tank with the dimensions of 5x2x2 is a 150 right? I hope thatsa good thing for you! I used 100lbs in my 6x2x2 180g and it covered the bottom up to the trim, which is just how I like mine.

I got the demensions and it 60L 18W and 24H not sure why I though it was 24w. My Local pool store carries silica sand 50lbs for $9 Hope that will work so do I just need to rinse it no boiling?

I had the exact same dimension tank. I think 50lbs should cover it enough unless you like a deeper sand bed.

Are all freshwater fish good with sand. Im hoping all fish are fine with sand including catfish.

100 lbs should be good for 120 gallons.

I would avoid play sand. Pool filter sand is better any only slightly more expensive.
