1500 piranha in the same tank would be pretty impressive.

i nominate you to be the first to try it. Maybe bruner can donate the fry to start that operation

I think minus the being cruel thing I'd consider it if he pays the shipping on the fish. The new tank would look really cheap compared to that bill.

I'm wondering if theres anything that you could stock 20 per gallon fish wise.

That would be the ultimate survival of the fittest. Can you imagine the filters needed to try to keep up with the bioload? There's nothing fishwise that i can think of for 20 per 1 gallon. shrimp yes, fish no.

a 3000 gallon tank, 60,00 piranhas, with a survival rate of 1-3 if nature takes roll, you'd end up with about 20,000 p's by the first 6-8 months, then by the first year i'd estimate a 50% life/death ratio, so 10k, then canabilism would kick in and the runts would be picked off thus lower it to about 5-8k if this was a natural setting in a 3k tank, but who knows eh, i ain't gunna try it, and sure ain'y gunna count em'

I think bruner already has few hundreds in a 30g so it's been done :naughty:
well...its actually tons of fry in a 30g kiddie pool or something like that.
anyway, for adults around 5-6 would be good in a 75 gallon tank

Were going to have to brand them with numbers on them before we release them and then sell of tickets to match the numbers. After a year we will see what numbers are left and split the winnings evenly. Even if its cruel it would be far more entertaining than watching horse races.

i got 4 for my 75g. 4 or 5 months later i have 3.
the one that got attacked was just a smidge bigger then the others. what does this mean? idk
i would start off with an extra

It would be by far easier to tag them and count the DEAD ones. By which I mean the tags on the bottom of the tank.

I had 5 in a 75g and after enough time I have 4. those 4 are now in a 90g. What really sucked is that they killed the 5th off the same day I was gone to get the 90g.
