How many Rapheal Catfish????? All out Rapheal Catfish tank!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They are probably active at the LFS because they are looking for someplace to hide. They are nice fish and everything but that's all they want to do... Get some night vision goggles if you ever want to see them.

I Love Rafaels but in all honestly, that sounds like the most boring tank ever.... They are so lazy and like to hide. In a heavily planted tank you are never Gonna see them...

Once they find a hiding spot they don't do alot. Mine seem to go crazy for any flake food though. And don't care too much for shrimp pellets. I would do like 5 in a 55 gallon but no ones going to stop you from doing what you want. There's no need to come in here running your mouth. If he wants to put 20 fish in a 10 gallon, let him do it and let him learn from his mistakes. I do agreed that a 10 gallon isn't nearly big enough but why come here and make the guy feel like he needs to go play on a highway?

if there that small you can easily do 10 in a 55gal as it will take a year plus from half inch to 4"and if there in groups and as they get bigger in a group they will become more social i have 4 large guys and are fairly active for SRC

No I understand. I didn't mean anything by it. I just can't stand when people come in talking s*** in other peoples threads. I don't think you would kill any of them I was just saying if they were to die, that would be a lesson to you and you would learn from it like everyone else here has. I'm sticking up for you by saying people don't need to come here and talk the way they have

adzy my bad lol read it wrong sorry,

yah i might go with them like i said in a bigger tank. my parents even agreed to get me a 300g for a reasonable price. just dont know where to find one for under $350 haha

Your. Parents. Rock.

Keep an eye on Craigslist.

And for the record, raphael cats are among the easiest animals to keep in captivity. A good variety of nutritious, I repeat nutritious pellet foods is sufficient to supply their needs and keep them spunky. They also love earthworms, etc. Any sinking food that will fit into their mouths will be appreciated. Just feed them after dark, or very early in the morning. And if you want to see them, turn out the lights and drop in some food, then sit very still. Most of the time they'll come out for the food. No guarantee, but it's likely. They do soft or hard water and even tolerate nitrates if you get lazy and skip a week.
