10 3"ers should be good for a while until they get bigger.... they could still do fine, but they're piranhas, don't trust 'em...

Yeah, they should. Mine all get along except for the little one that's growing a little slower than the rest. He's just got nipped fins so far...
i would go 10, no dout. piranhas all have diffrent personalitys, as like every fish. if they are feed well i dout there will be a problem. i would go 10. if they are at the petstore all togher with very few nipped fins, personaly i would get 10.
