Bad idea- nobody else see the problem? The half that you leave in the 29 will be contaminated with whatever the new feeders will have, so you'll effectively have negated their entire month long quarantine period.

agreed. What you should do is add say 50 to the 29 gallon to start, then when you start getting low go buy like 30 to put in the 10 gallon.

yea very true guys thanks for the help maybe i will pick up another 30 gallon or so and move the quarantined fish into it all at once then re stock the other
thanks for the help

I have allways quarantined for 1 week and never had a problem. But I add salt and quick cure to every new batch. If you have enough bio-filtration you can keep a ridiculous amount alive in the tanks. I am guessing your tanks are not cycled yet. And if so I would set the 29 up and start a fish less cycle and seed the bacteria with some filter media from your main tank. And in the mean time i would ony do 10 rosy's in the 10 for a while until you get a good cycle in it as well. If you pack them in there with no bio-bacteria present, the ammonia will surely get high before you catch it and kill the feeders. And even if it does not kill them it will stress them. And stressed fish are disease factories, and you do not want diseased food. Once you get everything cycled and good you will have no problem keeping 100-150 roisies in the 29 and up to around 50 in the 10. -----------------Remember what i told you in the breeding section-----I keep a stock level of around 360+ minnows in that 55 at all times. And i buy by the pound which is 28-30 dozen.
