I've had multiple sevs in tanks before without much problem, but I have multiple tanks and I've kept a variety of species for which I might have to move things around now and then to keep the peace.
One that made a nice tank was a group of 6-8 rotkeils in a 135; similar deal to what you're talking about, they were siblings, selected adults from a spawn I grew out. Mixed gender, though I don't remember exact ratio. Had a pair form in this group, not much of an issue, they had a protected corner they could go to for spawning purposes.
Your results could vary, but for me it's worked, I've done it a few times, and I'm sure I'll do it again at some point.

I wouldn't consider it an issue really that maybe sometime in the next few years some of the severums might pair up. It's an annoyance but that's about it. Mine aren't that aggressive about it either just chase the other fish away if they get too close. They gave up on trying to chase off the redspot and goldspot after a few weeks. Probably realized he doesn't react at all to them.
Used to be a really good lfs in Shrewsbury, Mass, was late 80s, early 90s when I lived in the area. They had a 300 gal tank they'd do different displays with. One was a group of huge gold severums. Don't remember how many in the tank but they acted like well adjusted discus, peaceful, curious, follow you around the room, typical minor spats but nothing serious. Between the fish and aquascape it made a memorable tank.
I'd say in a 350 you could do 10-12 severums pretty easily.
See this is such a frustrating thing with fish... I have a green severum in one of 125g tanks that got put in there cause he killed all his own tank mates, and then he proceeded to become best friends with stunted angelfish I rescued from my neighbor...
yeah theyre definitely interesting fish with distinct personalities. my gold severum will go berserk when shes in the same tank as my red devil. attacks everything. take out the devil and shes back to her normal bumbling easygoing demeanor instantaneously.
Never know for sure until you try. I have crypts living in a tank with hericthys and cryptoheros right now. I have kept severums with plants as well. I think it would be worth a shot if they wanted to.Wait don't these things love plants? Crypts won't stand a chance
May as well try. My omnivorous snakeskin gourami only nibbles at water sprite roots now and again. Nice thing about crypts though is that even if eaten back the rhizome can germinate again
