its real good for stress relief

What it actually does is aid with osmotic regulation in freshwater fish as their body tissues hold more salt than the water they are in, to maintain an equilibrium (homeostasis if you wish) requires a metabolic investment (energy). If there is a SLIGHT salinity to their water ir reduces the energy expenditure required (stress). And of course, when used as a treatment as opposed to a prophylactic measure, it works synergistically with most (but not all) medications, off the shelf and prescription.

Really!....Seachem must be wasting there time producing a product such as this

http://www.seachem.com/products/product_pages/SA_CichlidSalt.html

you should let them know I sure they didn't know this.

Did you read what is in this stuff?

Guaranteed Analysis
Calcium 3.57%
Sodium 1.95%
Potassium 1.41%
Magnesium 0.76%

Dosage is 5mL per 20 gallons.

At this dose there is nothing to it! This equates to 1.29ppm of Na+ in the aquarium.

The dose of 1 TBSP NaCl per 5 gallons is equivalent to 355ppm of Na+ in the aquarium. (NaCl bulk density (as table salt) of 1.154g/cm3 and 39.337% Na)

As you can see there is a massive difference.

And Seachem is not wasting their time producing this product, they are making lots of $$$$ off anyone who buys it!!!!

Burt:)
