How many Tanks Do You Have Running...?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I only have one at the moment....I wonder if you should add to this topic how many do you have that you actually take care of properly

will be adding a 6th this week but i may take 2 down as well, time shall tell

i have 5 tanks up and running i clean all tanks every saturday
40 gallon
60 gallon
20 gallon
90 gallon

Eight Tanks Currently

300 Gallon - Common Snapping Turtle
210 Gallon - New World Cichlids
135 Gallon - O. niger and TSN
65 Gallon Hex - Community
55 Gallon - Growout
29 Gallon - SW FOWLR
25 Gallon - Isolation
15 Gallon Hex - Community

9 tanks in total but two aren't set up.
125 gallon being set up as we speak --> going to be turtle's paradise
55g is what turtles are currently in (plus 30g turtle topper for basking)
55g community tank that's way overstocked (bad boys goin in with turtles)
4 10s for feeder making and isolation
20g crayfish factory
65 gallon is going to get set up once the 125 process is over to get those "Freshwater" fish that are really "brackish" out of the community tank and into their proper environment.

As far as keeping them clean:
filters: fx5, xp2, 204 = canisters
4 HOB's being used w/3 extra as needed (setups still getting tweaked)
sponge filter ==>fry
pump I made out of a container and an air pump for isolation tank

those keep things pretty decent with the use of the mag float magnets to clean the outside.

Vacuum out the community tank pretty much daily just because TANNINS drive me insane an I'm still trying to do daily water changes. (whole process takes about 15 min a day)

We have extra equipment that isn't all being used. (Got a bundle deal from craigslist and it came with piles of stuff.)

The deal was 65 gallon, stand, glass tops, light, extra bulb, 100s worth of food, 100s worth of chemicals, 4 filters, air pumps w/complete tubing system & goodies, power heads, 2 10 gallons w/hood/lights, 3 breeder boxes, 1 breeder net, cleaning supplies (I know I'm forgetting something)... total-> 60 bucks.

currently running are 3 2ft tanks in my living room which are to be replaced by the new 6 footer and a 3 footer (its a double cabinet). In my bed room i have a planted nano, a marine nano and another 3 footer for gobies.

Thinking of another 6 footer for a marine tank in the living room but will see what the bills are when the new tank has been set up.

The big tank will be on a full recirculation system, fully computer controlled, no water changes needed except to top up evaporative loss and from when i clean the canisters. Thats the idea time will tell if my design is stable enough to put fish in.

That will put me at 6-7 tanks in the future
