I have too many or no enough tanks, depending on if you ask me or my boyfriend (who HATES water changing days!!) Currently I have up and running the following:
90 gal~Blood Parrots, Common pleco, Red Tail Shark
65 gal~Blood Parrot, Angel Fish, Chinese Algae Eater
45 gal~Mollies, mollies and more mollies...oh and a pitbull pleco and snowball pleco, inca snail and tiger snail
40 gal~Pink Kissing Gourami & her BF, black Molly, Clown Loaches, Panda corycats, Cherry barbs, Tiger Barbs and Gold Spot Pleco
10 gal~Delta Tail Betta, Dwarf African Frogs, Peppered Corycats, baby Gold Nugget pleco, assassin snails
100 gal pond~Shubunkin Goldfish, Sailfin Pleco, pond snails
10 gal Hospital Tank~ Blood Parrot with swim bladder disease
40 gal~Koi Angelfish, gold barbs, bandit corycats, Black Skirt tetras and baby Blood Parrot
26 gal~empty but cycling for cherry barbs and panda corycats in the 40gal
55 gal~empty but cycling for my aggressive Blood Parrot.. Becker (named after TV series with Ted Danson, and he is a well named bully!!) keeps terrorizing the other BP's and needs a time out alone!!
30 gal-empty for emergencies
I keep up with maintenance of all the tanks myself (unless you count my boyfriends so called assistance... carrying the 5 gal dirty water jugs outside for me to water my plants/veggie garden help....after 1 tank, he disappears!) and I do big tanks on Saturday and small tanks on Wednesdays.
Molly 45 gal tank gets 25% partial changes every other day because they just wont take those birth control pills I keep throwing in there!! Babies galore!! I can't give them away quick enough, and it seems I take very good care of them because nobody ever dies!! Had those little baby machines for 3 yrs now. Never doing Mollies again after these finally go, sweet fish but just too many of them to keep up with all the time.
I schedule filter media changes for Mondays and since all my tanks are over filtered, I change one filter every two weeks (which means each filter gets new charcoal every month and floss gets rinsed as needed).
My pond is my biggest challenge...since its ground level (water changes are more difficult) and has a lot of water lettuce and duck weed whose roots clog my filter and pumps constantly! Especially since the goldfish and pleco have discovered the plants taste better than their food! But it is well worth it!
