how many times a day

How many times a day do u feed ur cichlids?this might sound dumb but i feed my green terror thoughout the day,with small amounts of cichlid gold that he will eat up in less then 20 seconds,around 4 or 5 times a day. the pellet size i feed him is the smallest u can get out of cichlid gold.does this sound ok:confused:

I do this because i read on many sites that a well fed green terror is a very colorful one.

any advice would be greatly apreciated.
 
That's what I do with my fish, too. Drop something in the tank pretty much every time I walk by :-) I've got a 3 1/2" Green Terror that has gorgeous color. It's not so much how *much you feed them but *what you feed them. They need a large variety and not just pellets no matter how good the pellets. They need stuff like mussels, krill and veggies, too.
 
I feed my fish once or twice a day. And feeders on occassion, but then I starve them for a fe days after that.

o ok,i forgot to add that i also add beefheart in his diet also.Im going to start adding crickets in the diet also.it feels good to know im not the only one that had a huge habit of constantly feeding his fish.My green terror has a very healthy appetite.
 
Feed my fish everyday 2 times a day at the same time 7:45 in the morning and 7:00 at night. then after 2-3 weeks I usually starve them for 4 days to clean the digestive tract and get rid of any built up waste. All except the little guys under 5 inch get the cleansing time. The little guys get powerfed for 4 days then slow it down for 4-5 days then powerfed again.
 
I feed them between 1-3 times a day. Its random every day, usually whenever I wake up and whenever I go to bed and a few times here and there if I'm trying to bulk certain fish up. I feed them different stuff every time I feed them but theres usually some type of NLS mixed in there every time. Always remember to starve your fish for a day or two every now and then to clean up their digestive systems. I usually do it after my water changes and get a lot of nice pictures in.
 
I feed 1 time per day 4 or 5 days a week. 2 or 3 days of fasting per week.
 
Mixed staple diet every morning and afternoon at 8am and 4:30pm, and every second day they get a Treat (Vegetables or Meaty Product like Beefheart) at Noon, provided I'm home.

Never feed live fish, sometimes insects that I'm 100% sure haven't been poisoned by pest control.
 
I feed once a day, missing a day or so per week.
