How many varients of aimara are in the hobby?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Only collecting aimara until I buy a house. Then the real stuff comes
Pretty boss statement you’d probably build that house around a tank

Venezuela (Rio Orinoco)

I've only had the fish a few day's, but from what I can see so far. The Suriname aimara is darker in color and way more responsive to interacting with me. It will come up to the front of the tank and just watch me, while the Venezuela will sit at the back, still watch me but way more cautious.
The other difference I have noticed, the Venezuela is more of typical aimara behaviour in that it lays conpletely flat and its entire body is more streamline in stance. While the suriname will act almost like H. laceardae and or curupira and sit on its pectoral fins with its head off the ground (tank). Other than this they both look identical lol

Bro, you've had some fish I drooled over too! Plus you're only temporarily out :naughty:

I haven't really owned anything since 2009. Now that I have some spare cash and time I can finally start getting serious again, but nothing until really serious or interesting until I buy a house, which is starting to look like end of next year instead of this year

Had to get rid of the barebottom as it was too sterile for me. Until I figure out what I want to do this is their split tank so far and a close-up of the Suriname.

Just like the title says.
I have never seen anything other than:
Venezuela, Guyana, Amapa, Rio Tocantin, and Suriname.
Ive heard of Sao Felix, Rio Tapajos, and French Guiana and a couple other's.

Can anyone post pictures and share collection and varients they actually own?
Had a little bit of difficulty reading your title. Thanks to your logo.
