im gona fill my 90 with yellow labs wel mostly femals and maybe 2 males?

i wana breed as much of them as i can! :naughty:

what would be a good number for this size tank?, for breeding purposes that is

well you'd want 2-3 females per male. so right there your looking at 6-8 fish, you could easily fit 15-18 labs in a 90. I would get atleast 1 more male, but thast just me. It would also depend on the filtration you have running and how crowded you wnat the tank.

GL with the breeding

your 90 could probably hold around 25-30yellow labs. Give them enough hiding places and they should do fine. Go overboard on the filtration and you should be fine. I have got 20 mbuna in my 75g all around 3in and they are doing great.

if i have that many will they breed as much?
rember i want as much fry as possible
so the more i have the more fry ill get? or would they not breed much if ther wer lots of them?

at the moment i got 3 in there now and they all hide! are they ever gona come out? lol

According to old lore, 1 inch of fish per gallon. So you can have 90 1" Labs. Or 1 90" Lab. LOL

2-3 males with a separate rockpile for each male.10-15 females.
Having a clearly defined rockpile makes it less likley one male will take over the tank.Labs arent that aggressive for mbuna but its a good plan for any of the mbuna.Have a few separate small tanks for the females to spit fry in and let them recover a few weeks before returning them to the main tank

so if i had three rock piles one for each male , there wouldnt be many hideing places for the 15 or so females, would that matter?

spose id be able to see them more than i do now lol

so yea is it ok if they dont all have there own spot?
