Anyone have any idea how many dwarf platys can be kept in a 10 gallon aquarium? I currently have 5 of them. They are small, and remain small. Thanks

I have a 20g with dwarf platy's in there. I have 8 of them in there with a golden algae eater. I would also say stick with just 5 of them for the 10g. Besides, it won't be long before you will see little fry. To me, platy's seem to breed quicker than guppies.
I am hoping they will breed. I had them in a 30 long with a couple of swords and some mollies, but they didn't breed in there, so I figured they would be happier in their own little tank. Thanks. I will stick with the 4 girls and 1 male.

I bet you they did, and the little fry got eaten. I didn't think that swordtails or mollies or even platy's would eat little fry but they do. If it's small enough to fit in their mouth they will eat them. I think you will have better luck now with the platy's in the 10g, wait about 2 weeks and I bet you, you will see some fry. hehe.
Let's hope so! I moved my guppies into their own tank, and they had fry very quickly.
This move of the platys means I have only mollies and swords in the 30 gallon. There are a couple of juveniles in there and a clown pleco, so maybe I will see babies all over now.

Yeah, like I said I would give it about 2 weeks. When i had 2 platy's in my 6g, I didn't even know what to do anymore, bc it seemed like every time I turned around she had more fry.

BTW, Their tank is purple and there are 2 ten gallon tanks sitting on the matching purple stand. It is soooo pretty.

Purple huh? I don't think I have ever seen purple colored theme for a tank. Do you have any pictures?? It sounds pretty!
As soon as you see some fry let me know! The very first time I saw some, I was like what in the world are those little things? Then I realized it was a bunch of babies swimming around. It's soooo cute.
