Ive been off here for ages, lots of tank changes and work. Going to have a spring refit. Taking out half my stock and leaving it with twisted wood a few plants. The remaining fish will be four small clown loach, 10 drape fin barbs and 12 harlequins plus clown plecos and bn plecos. May keep my small syno, decorus hybrid.

The tank is 90gal so 48x18x24

Was going for a group of silver angel either tank raised or peru scalares how many could i have, going to have place to hide etc if some decide to breed but i would like to continue with a group whatever breeding happens

bump

i was thinking 6-7 ?

They are so nice the spot is blue the body is pink to purple lower fins reddish but the dorsal is insane. watching two male show off is great. the dorsal goes up and they circle each other to the top of the tank. if they need to continue it goes on to strength show by mouthing.

They arent fin nippers that i have seen but the killifish i have is thats why he is going.

Angels how many do you think

Idea of numbers I was thinking 8 would be ok on the off chance i get three pairs one wont be on its own

60 views and noone has said how many or even if its a bad idea, please help.

You could have a group of domestic angels between 6 and up to 12 if they are juveniles, but after a while (5 to 6 months) they will begin
pairing and you will either need to remove pairs to breeding tanks or they will fight all day long and kill or make life miserable for the other angels. If
you go for wilds, you could have 6, since they get bigger and probably won't breed.

Barbs are pretty nippy and should not be with angels because they will tear up their fins. I don't know anything about your drape barbs. But they sound pretty.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Sue

I have had these barbs with rainbows, rams etc and havent seen them nip anything but since the killis went in there has been. They are really peaceful and if the scrap its two males and no damage. The only damage i have had is after adding killis and some new rainbows then everyone started getting damaged fins inc the barbs so its not them

Maybe you should observe the community and find out who are the nippers. I guarantee you won't want to keep angels with any nippy fish. The angels will stress out and get sick.
