Caribe are perhaps the meanest Ps out there and they get large to boot! for life no more then one. If you get them small you MAY be able to keep up to three for up to a year but that is pushing it.
I had 2 caribe and 3 rbp in my 75 gallon tank. they were in there since they were 2". I now have 1 Caribe and one RBP that is battle worn. They were in that tank for 6 months. the caribe is 6 inches now. I would say 2 caribe in the tank.. even then you may see a fat caribe and a half eaten caribe.
Either way you look at it it's a big time gamble. You have to remember that they are Piranhas. You could try 5 to start with, but may end up with 2. Good luck! I would get 6 RBP's, and keep 2 after they get bigger. Or get a smaller type of Piranha.
1, 3, and up.....Never 2, unless it's a proven pair, and even then.....I never had a problem in the past with my breeding pairs turning on each other, then again you have caribe, I bred rbp's....
How do I know if I have these or Red Bellies....Because mine looks exactly like that pic in post two....same shovel shape in the mouth and all....
and hes extremly mean....Ate through the net at the pet store before he could be brought to the top....also had to be brought home in a 5 gallon bucket because he ate through a tripple bagged plastic take home bag in like 4 seconds...landed on the floor....
eats 12 comets in one day....extra nasty...
