ya but widebars are the most expensive

They were not the most expencive when i paid £24 for it NGT were at £125

life is to short to worry about a few $$$$$$ unless its your last $50 until your next pay day why worry

the prices are different from state to state so unless you give out your zip code you wont get the right price for your area

That's horrible advice. Why pay more for a fish that you may be able to get right down the street for less? Why pay more for ANYTHING in life if you can get the same joy/entertainment out of it for less money?

I don't see any logics for why you should pay more for anything if we're comparing apple to apple and orange to orange unless we're talking time or convenieces.(IE, i can get one for 30 bucks more today as oppose to waiting 3 months to get it cheaper). You can't shop with your own pocket and assume everyone else views money the same way you do. Some people will throw $500 dollars on a fish and think nothing of it while some will cringe at spending $15 dollars.

right hear goes

in london UK we can get

2inch NTT for about £39
8inch IT for £80-100

now was that any help to you at all :D

nah, prices in the UK don't help me at all but thanks, it may help OTHER's in london though so i'll thank you on their behalf = )

this is my point

unless someone in your state and area can tell you the exact price for each type of tiger then you wont get the info you need

all you will get is what i posted in my 1st post

i can get them for this or wow they are expencive i have seen LOADS and LOADS of threads asking how much they cost

if you would wait 3 months just to save a few $$$ then you could be waiting a long time to get the right fish at the right price

i just paid £125 for a 8 inch NTT yes that was way over priced but it was the right size that i needed and i saw it in a shop so got it yes i could have waited another 6 months looking for one that size but why if i had the money

if you are trying to save a few $$$$$ then maybe tigers are not the fish for you as they cost a lot to feed

conveniences my friend. It was there, and you didn't want to wait so it was more convienent for you to pay more. You proved my point.

If you had other options available (provided they're the same fish and both healhty) that didn't take you any more time, you would've taken the least expensive option

you are not making any sence

a shop near you has what you want but you wont buy because it $20 more than what people here tell you

if you have other options why do you need to ask

Is there a LOT of variation in quality? I know to look for obvious things that I would look for on any other fish, but aside from that I would just pick the best looking one. Are there any dat-specific things to look for when choosing? Also, I was going to get a D. microlepis. I want one that will be ok in semi-soft water. Good idea?

With so many chain stores, the internet, and the large fish suppliers that wholesale to many states, I think geography wouldn't necessarily be what causes differences in price. It's a smaller world/country than it used to be, and I can order fish from all over the U.S. from my couch. It may matter some, but not somuch that I should ignore the prices from other states.

Its true you can order what you want from home and the internet is good in some ways but bad in others

you can go on line and order 10 x 1 inch tigers for half the price that they sell for in a LFS but out of that 10 you may get 0 that look good or what you are looking for

its a big gamble buying on line

this is my point if you go into a LFS and see a tiger you like and its what you are looking for why let it go just to save a few $$$$$
