I seem to remember reading that there are breeding populations of pumpkin seed, long ear, and some other sunfish in the UK. Find out where they are, get your self a dip net and have at them.
WOW..., thanks noto and Jridge, i can get fish licenses free as i have adequate tanks, but fishing them sounds fun my grandad was a lobster man and specialised fisher... one problem i would take him but hanging out with corpses is not fun lol(i feel sad inside) either my gran sold his rods (no pun intended) or they are still in the shed, i also think i read somewhere that fishing/keeping native fish are against the law without a permit and i have a british encyclopedia (there is a native loach in it ) and if they rods are where i last saw them then yeah ill try it but ill wait until i know more about the permits and if i need one or not. also im in good mood today as some nice girl likes me at college(she likes me in that way!) so every one give yourself a hug/pat on the back on me!
turns out they have been introduced from the states and thus classed as a invasive species now i need to research exactly where they ave been introduced
Hey Mods after i am done i think you should delete all the posts apart from the sun fish pics/info and sticky it as it has some good info, thanks! and well appreciated for a sunfih wannabe...
