Pretend to go to throw a punch at my male Carpintis juvenile because he's an irritating b*stard and is constantly trying to chase all the other fish in the tank at around 2.5" (Including my 4" fat lipped Labiatus)Normally do it around 3-4 times a day. Tis but an excuse, learn bubble language and communicate with your fish to see how they are. if there is no response just assume it is dead or simply does not appreciate an adult man sticking his face in the tank. especially a betta in a bowl

hello; If you want to try something that may not work; I use to remove the "bully" fish to an isolation tank for a good while. The hope being that in the meantime a new pecking order might be established and when the bully is put back, it might not be so dominant.

I also tried to rearrange the tank a bit so it did not have the same territory clues.

Alas a dominant fish is often going to wind up being dominant.

Having line of sight breaks may actually work to damp down the aggression slightly. Out of sight-out of mind.

If a tank is big enough (read long enough) I use to set up structure at the far ends of the tank. My thinking being a fish might pick only one end of the tank as a main territory to defend and the less dominant fish might have a slightly calmer area to be and hide.

Sometimes just have to give a dominant fish a tank of it's own and experiment with other fish to find some it will tolerate.

I believe that friction will take care of that. No shaving required.
