how much do you guys TIP your waiter?

This was discussed here before. I've said my piece in that thread already but I guess I'm a bad tipper. I don't like tipping but I do anyways. Usually 5-10% regardless of how good the service was.

For those who think bad tippers are scumbags, I think bartenders or waiters watering down drinks purposely because they didn't get what they think they deserved are the scumbags.

Anyways, I'm not cheap, I will treat family to $100 dinners and tip $5-$10.

Here's the last thread about tipping

Oh If someone is being an A-hole and a bad tipper and proud of it, I'll do a lot worse than just water down their drink.... ;)

They aren't working for me in the first place.
Well... Yeah, they are. You are telling them what to do, they do it for you, you pay them. That's working for you.

And if they aren't looking to work for free they should look to work somewhere else

I wish I had a response for this. I don't even know what to say.

15%-20% usually

I usually tip at a minimum of 20% for good/great service, even more if you impress me. But... I have no qualms about not leaving a tip for poor service.

As I've said in every thread about tipping, I HATE tipping. I think it's a disgusting practice and creates a bunch of vengeful bratty wait staff that expect and demand tips. I'm sorry, it's not my duty to subsidize your income. Get another job if the pay sucks that bad.

But I do tip. I guess because society says I have to. The max I'll leave on any bill is double the tax. Bad attitude and/or bad service is automatic $0.

15-20% unless there was really bad service. Maybe a bit more if the service was outstanding or they went above and beyond.

Waiters don't make minimum wage because (in the US at least) there is an expectation that they'll get tips.

I'm always a little confused, though, at places like buffets (they re-filled my glass with water and took away the dirty plates) and cafeteria style places.

Wrong again. They work for the restaurant.

It's ok if I stumped you, don't feel bad. :-)

Yeah. Why doesn't the restaurant owner 'tip' his staff? They are the ones making him the money after all...right?

I'm polite to my servers always and always thank them. but im not talking about the aholes. Im talking about bartenders watering down drinks even to nice bad tippers
