How much do you spend per month on fish keeping related costs such as food, heating, lighting, electricity, chemicals ect. (new tanks, stands, equipment and new fish don't count) This poll is just for running costs.

Vote! :)

Month to month I do not spend very much right around $75-100 for all the utilities, food, water conditioners and various supplies.

its never been more than $10 for me! before I move to the U.S, everything was too cheap and the weather is too good so I don't need heater. Right now, I only been to the U.S for about 2 years and 7 months, so I don't have that many fish.

rough calculations for myself:

(1) tank 125g...

(2) 150W heaters on maybe 6 hours a day = 1800W per day

(1) Fx5 = 50W x 24 hours = 1200W per day

(1) penguin 350, 15W??? x 24 hours = 360W per day

(1) 20W light x 10 hours = 200W per day

Total wattage = 3560 per day
3560 / 1000 = 3.56kw/h x $0.09 = $0.32 per day
$0.32 x 30 days = $9.61 per month

Food... 3 Oscars eating mostly pellets idk $2 a month?

Grand total:

$11.61 a month. :D

EDIT: oh and water. That's something like $0.04 per 670 something gallons (cubic meter) , its not even worth mentioning. lol

u should have made the $$ amounts bigger lol

im prob over $400 per month :(

Do you want the winter months cost or the summer cost? I spend about $100 on food every month, about $50 on supplies, and about another $100 on electricity and water. However in the winter it is about an extra $200 each month because of the heaters to heat a 300 and a 700 gallon to 80F in a 30F garage.
