built a 700 gallon last year, finished it this year, still have to stock it.

I spent $1500-$2000 last year(mostly construction of aquarium) some on fish/food, $500 or so this year (heaters and controllers and odds and ends for the 700) and some food and fish etc.

I refuse to actually write down and keep track, it could have been higher than I guess, but I refuse to know

Don't forget about the extra electricity you use filtering and heating all that water. And the water bill !

Not as much as I should...

hmmm this year i have spent about $1500 but i have went years with just buying food and the occasional heater. once you get your set up how you want it it don't cost that much. but this ain't including electricity and water.

water changes. electricity and food and testing stuff ahahahaha :nilly: lol fish are an expense i am going to live with for the rest of my life. sucks for me lol im in the 501-600 range

I spend well over $1000 a year....on food, other fish, filtration etc....

The poll should start at 1k.....
I've spent more than that this week!

Hopefully this year will be a negative number, as I am trying to sell all of my setups and get out for a while, but I have spent $1500 in one week on 2 different setups.

If you dont count electricity I probably broke even last year.Sold alot of fish.
But Im sure the electricity on the 40 tanks was a large part of my electric bill.So as a business pretty crappy but I had alot of fun.
