How much do your RBPs eat ? (mine eat like mad)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i am trying my best to keep them feed and off each others fins i hope to end up with a breeding pair or two and hope to keep them all even though i know that once they fully mature i will have to get another tank or get rid of some of them b/c my 125 won't hold 12 adults

yeah, that's for sure. now is definitely going to be the best time to introduce them to a wide variety of foods. pellets are a little more difficult to get them on, but if you're persistent, they'll start to devour them and you'll be happy that you added that to their diet when you see that red popping.

oh yeah it will be mixed up and as u can see from the one pic the feeders do have a sperate tank below and i try my best to look at the feeder tank at the LFS to make sure there are no signs if ick or any other things that would be harmfull to my RBPs but i do think that this week i might try the filet or shrimp.

well it sounds like you're on the right track... it takes awhile to figure things out, but i'm pretty happy with the way my shoal looks right now and i attribute that to their diet and the pristine water conditions provided by the ridiculous amount of filtration i've got on their current tank.

show some pics of you tank
and what all do u have for filtration on it

this is what i have on mine
undergounds by perfecto
two marineland penguin 350Bs (with 4 filter cartridges each)
and soon to have my fluval FX5 ( i am not sure what all extra media i will get for it yet)

i actually just posted some pics of my reds tank earlier today, check out my thread... i think its called a few shots of my reds, or something along that line

i think the longest i have had any feeders in the tank with these guys is like 10 hours then they are gone i am trying to keep some feeders swimming around all the time for at least another week or two i would like them to keep there fins lol

my name is mike. i have a gold piranha, and i have a blue diamond rhom on the way. how often do you feed your fish. i feed my fish every other day. if you could give me a diet plan for my fish that would be great. thanks

You just brought back a 2 YEAR old thread man. Would've been better to create your own. What we need to know is the size?
