How much does a Fire Eel sell for in your LFS ?

I bought my old 16" fire eel from my LFS for $39, I was buds with the manager though and he said his cost was like $35.. After it jumped I went back and he was no longer the manager, the new manager said they wouldn't budge from the $179 price tag.. thats Petland for ya.

$40, but i couldnt tell the size cuz the fish wasnt there but the writing was still on the glass lol

Did you ever get your fire eel? I bought one today, about 6 inches for $7.49. I couldn't believe that price tag. He's currently in a 55 gallon, but he'll move to a 125 soon.
