Can anyone give me a close estimate on how much they spend to feed their aros. I have 6 (about 4"-5") of them and have been buying guppies like CRAZY!!!!

Also, what else do you feed yours, are there any other cheap but nutritious substitutes? And does anyone have a good method of converting them to pellets of FD foods. Mine only nips on them and then they spit them out.

Your help is much appreciated.

their is no need to buy guppys or any type of feeder fish

you should feed meal worms super worms or crickets

they are still expencive i have 5 x 18inch aros and they cost about $35 to feed every 10 days

That is true, I would rather feed them crickets, because they are less likely to introduce diseases but the thought of escapees running around the house would cause a big racket, and I'd be at the heart of that mess.

Getting them off live is your best bet. Feed them pellet on your regular sched until they eat it. Don't give in to them not eating. They won't starve themselves to death so it's best to get them off live now while they're still young.

at that size pellets would be the best and cheapest food for them. have fun when they get bigger.

i usually waste 50 bucks a week for my 5 arowana =D

i buy cricket, alot of super/meal/blood worm and sumtimes dig up earth worms,i buy box of krills, pellets

i meant 30 bucks and less rofl

Cheapest way would either be pellets or Shrimp/market prawns. When I had 3 arowanas, I would spend about $10-15 a month feeding just frozen shrimp.

I WOULD like to convert their diet onto pellet based. However, they were REALLY expensive and I don't want to lose any. I observe them about 1-2 hrs each day and when I feed them and so far none has touched the FD shrimp, or pellets.
