how much is water costing you per gallon? thought it might be interesting to see what people are being charged, so go grab your water bill.


my water is $1.476/ccf(100 cubic feet of water= aprx. 750g)

so 1 gallon costs me $0.001968

using roughly 255g per week for waterchanges costs about $0.50, $2.00 a month.

My water bill is $46.10/mo. That also includes trash pickup and city emergency services. The larger problem is sewer. I have to file a water use letter monthly on the hatchery so I don't get charged for sewer according to the water used. The city counts my tanks wastewater as 'evaporated' since I don't drain the tanks to the sewer.

My water is free however switching on the water tanks as I use up the water for my aquarium and pond uses, goes to the electric bill. I spend an average of $20 on a monthly basis for electric bill covering all my aquarium uses. Heck, it just racks up as I add more filters, lighting, etc.

I'm on well water, so the cost is only what it costs in electricity to run the pump, which I estimate at roughly $0.0002 a gallon.

Wow... very interesting. My Sewer is pretty high, I wonder if this can work for me? My prob is my Electric bill... it is usually about 1100bux monthly... I say I pay about 175 on all the utility bills together but get billed by-monthly

water bill averages ~ 66 a month and I'd guess around 15$ of that is for the fish, especially when I have to WC the pond due to a storm.

electric is the issue just went up to .0406 per kwh up from .0306 a month ago that's a 33% increase.

I must have incredibly cheap water. I calculated it out and I'm paying about $0.0005 per gallon. For a monthly cost of about $1.00.

My electricity is fairly brutal. Went from no tanks operating for the first month at $75 and skyrocketed up to $150.
