How much electricity would a 29 g biocube eat up? any ideas? found one fully stocked for 125...gonna pick it up if i can was just wondering how much energy it uses.

The filter size, light wattage, heater wattage...and the price of electricity in your area are all unknowns, so it will be hard to guess an answer :)

I read once that a basic rule of thumb is $10 per month for 50 gallons. But, just like "one inch of fish per gallon rule", there are several variables that could cause this estimate to vary dramatically.

For example, I know the 3 tanks on my west wall (113 gallons total) are using far more electricity than my 150.

In your case, a totally wild ass guess would be $7 to $15 per month (give or take $7 to $15 lol!)

Take care...

i think it would be way less then that? isnt 0.02cent per minute or something like it

Probably more like $0.05 to $0.10 per kw/hour. Of course, the more kilowatts of electricity you're using, the more money you'll spend.

im from california and we just got the smart meter from pg&e, if you know about it you HATE it but if not read up on it and you will see why im concerned about electricity >.< anyhow, im trying to find out how much my electricity cost. if anyone knows how to find out besides my bill, i live in san luis obispo california. ill post if i find out how much it cost

July, 2010...$0.171 per kw/h
