I'm moving my 6 Channa Pleuros to a new 4' X 1.5' X 1.5' (65g) tank. I was wondering how much flow should I have in the tank. The canister filter would provide almost no currents. Should I add a power head or two?
Also should the current be in top, mid or bottom level?

I'll post some pics once it is set.

Thanks.

Considering they are a river species I imagine they appreciate more flow than other channa species.

I keep a group of 5 juveniles, will also move them to a bigger tank inext week and am wondering the same thing.
Mine are currently in a 120g (4*2*2) filtered by a fx5 and handle perfectly the flow. Will be moved to a 145g (6*2*20") with sump that has considerable less flow at the moment (only the one provided by the return pump).

I already have a 900g circulation pump to be added if needed, but I belive that in the first weeks I´ll see how it goes without the pump.

Here is the tank setup with my 6 pleuros. I've added a wavemaker fan for extra flow and they seem to love it. Most of the time they are in the flow of the fan as a group. They try to hide when the camera is on but otherwise swimming in the open space most of the time.

Looking good but I would put more cover in it (some driftwood and/or more plants). It is a bit bare in the right side.
Pleuros look great

Thanks Joao. I was going to put in more cover after seeing how they would behave in the new tank. I actually expected them to spend most of their time in the area where there is already some plants and cover. But surprisingly they spend most of the time on that bare open area lining themselves against the current coming from the other end. They go to the planted area only when I get extremely close to the tank (such as trying to take a close up photo). Therefore I think I'm going to leave their favorite hangout area as it is.
They are already showing shades of green and blue. The growth rate is not that great though, they are not very aggressive eaters so far.
