I personally have'nt seen them available too often anymore, but I think I'd have a hard time spending that much for it. With that said, a fish is worth what YOU think it is worth. Just dont tell your non-fishkeeping friends what you paid, they'll think you're:screwy:.lol

I meant to post this above. But yeah it's too late for that. :headbang2 My friends already think I'm loco. I have three tanks and I'm about to add a fourth for a congo puffer. I try to tell them it's not that bad but they won't listen lol. I keep telling one of them I'm only going to get one more fish *snort* Okay so that worked four times before she quit believing me. lol It'd be my mother who would skin me alive if she found out how much I spend on my fish. She thinks I've never spent more than 5.00 on any fish although to date my maximum was 15.00 for the Acara and depending on which plec I get there is no telling how much I'll spend. I live two hours away from her but she can cut steel with her voice when she wants to over the telephone :nilly:

I was thinking 150.00 sounded a little outrageous. Which this store is a little pricey in general but they are the only ones in my area that specialize in both marine and fresh. The only place to get fresh water fish is petsmart and petco which probably explains their prices. They own the market basically.

Doesn't surprise me that he's a carnivore instead of an omnivore, the guy that actually works with the fresh water wasn't in that day.

Thanks for the info Proteus. I like the looks of both the Sultans and the Leopard Frogs, although from looking them up it seems the leopard frogs grow to a smaller length which would be more ideal for my situation if they prefer to be kept in groups. What are you calling a colony exactly? Three, four, more lol? I'm looking for something to keep with my single blue acara in a 40gallon and a pleco was suggested. I know most of them get too big, I have a suspicion that that King Tiger may have eventually gotten too big for this tank. I don't mind whether they eat algae or not. I keep pufferfish and other carnivores so tank cleaning is a common occurence in the house. I like plecs, I've always thought they were cute and they always get pushed to the side. I'm just looking for something with a nice color and that won't hide 24/7.

Thanks for the responses.

The King Tiger in the 70G planted display was quoted at $150 because he's mine and I'm not looking to sell him. Thought you already knew that Kim!

Originally I paid around $80 after tax. And no, whoever told you it was omnivorous is wrong, I have to bring in food ti feed him as the wafers we have there don't cut it...

And since he's been under my care for two years now, I can tell you he doesn't hide much. He'll hang on the glass by the heater or filter intake but as soon as you drop some food in there he goes nuts.

Rofl you hunted me down on here Adam that's hilarious. And no I didn't know that. I can't remember who told me that but they did say he was omnivorous and that they could order me one for 150.00 which is where my confusion was coming from. I did know you didn't want to sell him and I noticed yours doesn't hide that often. He is a gorgeous pleco though. But my pleco plans are going to have to go on hold for a while. One of my ferrets had to be hopsitalized for some kind of virus they can't identify. Why I haven't been on here in a few days. I've been racing back and forth to the vet's office with him. Now he's home but i'm having to hand feed him with a syringe every four hours and I officially owe my soul to the vet's office right now. Shame to I really wanted to give that paludarium a try. *shrug* Some day.... Do give me a call whenever you are able to order congos though IDK how but I will find a tank for him.

BTW just curious but what in the world were you going to do if this wasn't me? lmao

Note to everyone who isn't Adam....my bad this went off topic. My brain isn't working from lack of sleep and the stress of waaaaay too many vet bills right now.
